Earlier this month, the Atlas team attended the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, Poland. This exhibition is one of Europe’s premier defence industry events, and for more than 30 years, the meeting point for Central Europe’s defence community.
We spent four days at the Canada Pavilion meeting partners, showcasing Saskatchewan manufacturing, and taking the pulse of an industry in rapid evolution. Here’s what stood out.
A Record-Setting Show for Canada
MSPO 2026 marked the largest-ever presence of the Canadian government and defence industry at an international defence exhibition. Nearly 250 Canadian companies and organizations took part, with Canada featured as Lead Nation. The results followed the scale. More than 20 agreements were signed with international partners during the event, including Polish companies.
Canada’s role as a trusted defence partner, and the capabilities, industrial strength, and allied security Canadian industry brings to its allies, were front and centre at this year’s event. Representatives from government, the armed forces, industry, and financial institutions in both countries met to discuss industrial cooperation, investment, and readiness to scale up defence production.
Saskatchewan was well represented in the delegation, with 17 mission participants from the province’s companies and support agencies.
What This Means for Canadian Manufacturing
Beyond the announcements and agreement counts, the show made it clear that the defence and security industry is evolving rapidly and creating new opportunities for Canadian businesses.
Canadian innovators are developing a wide range of technologies, products, and services that will support the next generation of defence and security capabilities at home and around the world. The scale of this year’s Canadian presence signals allied nations are actively looking to Canadian industry as a trusted partner. Supply chains are being rebuilt with reliability, provenance, and documentation in mind.
Atlas at the Canada Pavilion
Atlas was proudly part of the Canada Pavilion. Over four days, the team met with more than two dozen defence companies and showcased the custom forming and fabrication, structural rolling, CNC tube and pipe bending, and welding capabilities Atlas is known for.
Canada’s new defence strategy changes the landscape for both in-country procurement, and doing business with trusted international companies. Our national supply chain is postured for substantial activity and growth.
For a Saskatchewan company, being part of a record-setting Canadian presence at MSPO was a reminder of how far Canadian manufacturing reach extends, and how much demand there is for trusted fabrication partners on the world stage.
